Voices of the Future: Cyprus Debate Nationals
🎓 On the 4th of May 2025, CitizensACT held the National Debate Competition of Cyprus at Latsia Lyceum, bringing together three promising teams: Witty and Delos from Latsia Lyceum, and the 3 Musketeers from Agia Fyla Lyceum.
💯 As part of the SpeakUP project, which promotes active citizenship through debate, the event featured three exciting rounds where each team faced one another—testing arguments, challenging ideas, and growing their public speaking skills.
🏆 In a compelling grand final between Witty and Delos, it was Witty who claimed the national title with their sharp reasoning and confident delivery.
👏 Congratulations to all participating teams for their dedication, energy, and spirit! Your voices are the future of civic engagement—and we can’t wait to see what you do next.
🙏 We extend our warmest thanks to the Directorate of Latsia Lyceum for graciously hosting the event, to Georgios Papakonstantinou for his valuable contribution as judge, to teachers Dimitra Oikonomou and Maria Themistokleous from Latsia Lyceum and Stella Georgiou from Agia Fyla Lyceum for their tireless support and preparation of the teams, and to Niki Ktoriou for adding a special touch to the event with her beautiful decorations.
