♻️ International Plastic Bag Free Day 2025 ♻️ 🗑️
🌊Did you know that plastic bags are one of the most common pollutants, often ending up in oceans and waterways where they threaten marine life and ecosystems and take hundreds of years to decompose?
🧺To combat this, and as part of the Plastic Free July initiative, 3 July is dedicated to promoting sustainable alternatives for reducing the use of single-use plastic bags. This day promotes the use of reusable bags, cloth bags, and other sustainable alternatives, and it encourages people to take action in their communities to reduce plastic waste.
🧓👵 As part of our AGEINGREEN project, we are raising awareness across generations to inspire environmentally friendly habits and promote a more sustainable future for all.
💪 What can we do to participate in this movement and contribute to a cleaner environment?
✅ Switch to Reusable Bags: Commit to using reusable bags when shopping and encourage others to do the same. Keep a few reusable bags in your car or bag so that you always have one on hand!
✅ Organize or Join a Cleanup Event: Participate in or organize a community cleanup to remove plastic bags and other litter from local parks, beaches, or waterways. These events help reduce pollution and raise awareness about the impact of plastic waste.
✅Spread the Word: Share your efforts and experiences on social media using relevant hashtags. Encourage friends, family, and followers to join you in reducing plastic bag use and promoting sustainable living.
✅Shop Sustainably: Choose to support businesses that prioritize sustainability by using eco-friendly packaging and offering alternatives to plastic bags. Your consumer choices can influence companies to adopt greener practices.
