A group of 24 young people and youth workers enthusiastically participated in a dynamic Youth Exchange held in the town of Merkinė, Lithuania, for an incredibly fruitful week.
Throughout this immersive experience, participants were provided with a unique opportunity to delve into the realm of youth work and its profound role in fostering peacebuilding and community development. Diverse tools and methods were employed, including the innovative utilization of Lego, music, movement, and more, enabling the exploration of various avenues to make a positive impact.
The ultimate objective of this Youth Exchange was to empower the participants to actively contribute to their local communities and engage in the long-term mentoring program offered by ‘The Missing Peace’ project. By equipping them with newfound knowledge and skills, this initiative aimed to cultivate a cohort of change-makers, poised to effect meaningful transformation in their respective communities.
Heartfelt appreciation goes to Varėnos kultūros centras, the gracious host organization, as well as the dedicated facilitators of the training and the esteemed partners, namely Glencree Centre for Peace & Reconciliation, TEIS Foundation, Culture Goes Europe – CGE, and European Cultural Epicenter, Bitola. Their collaborative efforts ensured an unforgettable and highly educational experience for all participants involved.
